Q:
Is there a fee for this service?
A: As long as the school, group or organization is in the College's
service area it is free of charge.
Q: If our group wants to make a donation, who do we send it to?
A: All donations are made to Southwestern Illinois College Foundation.
You may send your check (donation) along with the speaker the day of the
event or mail to SWIC Foundation, 2500 Carlyle Avenue, Belleville, IL
62221. The speaker can decide which Foundation fund the check will be
used or you may decide where the donation will be used.
Q: Will the speaker travel to us?
A: Yes, the speaker will come to your group or you may wish to
have the presentation at any Southwestern Illinois College campus,
Schmidt Art Center or Program and Services for Older Persons (PSOP) site.
Q: What counties does the service area include?
A: St. Clair County, Madison County, Monroe and Randolph
Counties (service area map is on our home page.)
Q: What is the normal length of each presentation?
A: It varies with each talk, but most presentation will last about
20-40 minutes. Some are as long as an hour in length.
Q: Will the speakers give their presentation on weekends or evenings?
A: It depends on the individualbut yes, some of the speakers
will schedule talks on the weekends and evening.
Q: How much advance notice is needed to request a speaker?
A: It would be great to have at least three weeks notice for speaking requests; however, it is not a requirement. Call or email us at any time.
