Bicycle Safety

A bicycle safety program is currently offered at Southwestern Illinois College for all ages.  Trained officers will provide safety tips, as well as cover bicycle rules and regulations.  Please contact the Speakers Bureau for scheduling information.

My Kid Don't Do No Drugs!?!

Even in an almost perfect world, the word "drugs" causes parents to cringe at the thought of their children possibly using. A general knowledge about drugs can help parents watch for the signs and symptoms of use and give them the information and empowerment to take charge of their children.

R.A.D. - Rape Aggression Defense for Women

The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women.  The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.  R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program.  The training is a 13-hour (one day) session which requires a one-month advanced notice.  Minimum group size is ten.  Ages 12-17 must have parental consent and a parent in attendance.  Please contact the Speakers Bureau for scheduling information.

radKIDS - Personal Empowerment Safety Education

This program is a 10-hour, family-centered safety education program that emphasizes essential decision-making skills as well as physical resistance options to esacpe violence.  Children from 5-12 years of age may participate in the program with their adult partners to create a true safety partnership.
